The Barbados Agricultural Society (BAS) is excited to announce the launch of Radio Agrofest, a pop-up radio station for the site of Agrofest, Barbados’ national agricultural exhibition. The station will be broadcasting live from Queen’s Park, where Agrofest will be taking place from February 24-26.
Radio Agrofest will feature a variety of programming, including music, interviews with exhibitors and industry experts, and live updates from the event. The station will provide visitors with an immersive and interactive experience, as well as a unique way to learn about the latest developments in Barbadian farming.
The station is a collaboration with the students of the Barbados Community College and will be hear on their station GED 106.1 FM as well.
“We are thrilled to be launching Radio Agrofest as part of this year’s Agrofest,” said James Paul, CEO of the Barbados Agricultural Society. “We believe it will add an exciting new dimension to the event and provide a valuable service to our visitors.”
Agrofest has grown into a landmark three-day national showcase of the best of Barbados’ farming community and rural life, including crops, livestock, and agricultural equipment. It is an opportunity for farmers, agro-processors, and other industry stakeholders to connect with the public and promote their products and services. The event also features a range of activities, including cooking demonstrations, agricultural tours, and a kids’ zone.
The Barbados Agricultural Society invites the public to come out and enjoy the festivities at Agrofest and tune in to Radio Agrofest to stay informed and entertained throughout the event. The station will be available online from February 24.
